Occupational therapist carrying out an in-home wheelchair assessment

Silver Fern’s team of occupational therapists visit homes across England and Wales to carry out wheelchair assessments for chair users of all ages.

To make the wheelchair fitting process as simple as possible, we’ll send one of our experienced wheelchair specialists to your (or your client’s) home – the entire assessment can be carried out there.

Our wheelchair assessments are completely independent, so our product recommendations aren’t influenced by anything other than the chair user’s best interests.

Not only do in-home wheelchair assessments tend to be more convenient for the chair users themselves, they also give us a fuller picture of each patient’s unique requirements.

A home visit allows our therapist to assess the patient’s living environment and see how their wheelchair might help or hinder them as they go about their daily activities.

2Assess the environment to make sure we recommend a wheelchair that suits your home.
3Conduct a thorough physical assessment so that we can select a chair that fits you correctly.
4Deliver a wheelchair prescription that’s tailored to your unique requirements.

We can also deliver your new wheelchair to your home, make sure it’s adjusted correctly, and even visit you a few weeks later to make sure you’re getting on OK.
